The Arctic Monkeys show at Roseland in Portland, Oregon (USA, Earth), scheduled for December 4, 2013, sold out quite quickly.
The last Monkeys performances in Portland were at the Crystal Ballroom, and at the Rose Garden, opening up for The Black Keys.
The Monkeys, originally from Sheffield, England, all live in California now, and have been making a real effort these days to connect with American audiences.
For years, Anglophile American Arctic Monkeys fans had to luxury of seeing their heroes up close at humble venues (while at the same time, in the UK, they played Wembley and giant stadiums), and of scoffing when their friends asked "Who the fuck are Arctic Monkeys?", secure in the knowledge that they knew some knowledge worth acknowledging.
Quoth the Raven.... nevermore!
