I was telling a friend last night about The Strypes, how young they were, etc....
"Yeah... but can they play?", she asked.
I think this video answers that question handily.
They are all very talented, especially considering some of them are only 14. The singer is great. But perhaps their secret weapon is their killer guitarist... drummer and bass pretty good too... Rumor has it they sold their souls to the ghost of Robert Johnson...
Time for yet another "Blues Revival"? I'm game, and from the reception these lads have been getting in Ireland, the UK, and Europe, it seems that they are the perfect candidates to do the job, now that many in the US are ready again for this fine American art form... and yet again, weirdly, with accents from THAT side of The Atlantic instead of this side, where it came from...
