The restless Ty Segall has formed a new band, Fuzz, with his guitarist Charlie Moothart, as SPIN reports. Their 7" single-- out via Chicago label Trouble in Mind, and already sold out-- offers the cuts "This Time I Got a Reason" b/w "Fuzz's Fourth Dream", both streaming below.
Amusingly, Segall and Mootheart attempted to keep their identities anonymous with the project. The Trouble in Mind website reads: "Hendrix & Townshend swore by [Fuzz Face pedals], and apparently so does the San Francisco mystery group FUZZ. We received an unsolicited email submission from these guys & despite our best efforts, cannot discern who is responsible for these jams."
Consequence of Sound notes that Fuzz will play Burger Records' Burgerrama II, taking place March 22-23 in Orange County, with the Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, King Tuff, Black Lips, and more.
This all follows an epic year for Segall, who released three albums in 12 months, and his recently-announced pair of reissues, out January 22.
Also below, check out a performance of "Wave Goodbye" from this year's Pitchfork Music Festival.
