Malkmus & Spiral Stairs Jam on Pavement's "Summer Babe" For Scott's 50th B'day in San Francisco Last Night!

Last night (Saturday, October 1, 2016) hundreds of fans got together with Stephen Malkmus, The Jicks, and some other pals to celebrate the 50th birthday of Pavement guitarist Spiral Stairs, AKA Scott Kannberg. Although his actual date of birth was August 30, The Chapel in San Francisco's Mission District became the scene for celebration this weekend. The celebration actually continues tonight, and I'm not quite sure that Scott and some Jicks aren't still at The Chapel partying...

Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks did a complete set of their material, then Spiral Stairs joined them for a few songs, including a scorching version of Pavement's "Summer Babe". There was no encore. None was necessary.

P.S. Isn't it time for another Pavement reunion tour? It was so much fun last time (in 2010) and the popularity of these videos proves there is a tremendous interest in the band in 2016... and some of those people have never seen the band live. So what do you think guys? Pavement Reunion Tour, Part II in 2017??? Yes, please...
