Looking forward to the new album from Filthy Friends (feat Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney and Peter Buck of R.E.M.). Corin is also working with Janet and Carrie on a new Sleater-Kinney album, produced by St. Vincent.

Would like to catch these tours: Johnny Marr, Stephen Malkmus (solo), Gary Clark, Jr., Albert Hammond, Jr., Ezra Furman, Conor Oberst & Phoebe Bridgers (Better Oblivion Community Center).

Listening to Better Oblivion made me want to listen to Phoebe Bridgers' 2017 breakthrough album Stranger In The Alps. It's excellent. P.S. Much love to Phoebe for helping expose Ryan Adams.

The second album from Sean Lennon and Les Claypool of Primus is interesting. Most of the songs are quite long and trippy. Psychedelic pop which for some reason, reminds one of The Beatles and Primus.

Excited about new music from Pete Doherty, who I know from his work with The Libertines and The Babyshambles. There's a single out now, with an album coming out in April.

Ian Brown of The Stone Roses has a new album out, his first in quite some time. Nice to hear from him again. I was reminded how much I liked his previous solo album, 2007's The World Is Yours. It's rare to find songs with political and social commentary which aren't preachy and still sound good. Ian manages to pull it of. I particularly enjoyed his duet with Sinead O'Connor "Illegal Attacks".

Was intrigued to learn that Marvin Gaye's lost 1972 album "You're The Man" is finally coming out in March 2019. It was intended as a follow-up to the socially-conscious "What's Going On", but was said to have been shelved at the time by Motown chief Barry Gordy.

Still can't believe I never heard of Fanny until recently. Early '70s, four-piece female rock band who were great, especially live, from what I understand.

Paramount Pictures is releasing Rocketman, an Elton John biopic in May. Here's the trailer. Looks pretty good!

And finally... had never seen this before.... Joe Strummer, 2002 show in Acton, London, a benefit for striking firemen... Mick Jones jumped up on stage for a few songs, leading to an ersatz reunion of The Clash... Sadly, Joe died the following month....
