Weird Playlist May 2018



Bonnie "Prince" Billy "Wild Is The Will" - amazing video of another Susanna cover from Billy... released on the day of the #NationalSchoolWalkout protest for gun reform.

Danny Kaye "Thumbelina" from Hans Christian Anderson My great-grandparents had this on an old 78 I would play in the basement. I heard someone mention it in passing to a child and had to look it up.

Gene Clark "Tried So Hard"/"I Found You"/"If I Hang Around"  (from YouTube). "If I Hang Around" is one of the 18 "new" songs from 1967 by Byrds co-founder Gene Clark.

Johnny Cash The Total Johnny Cash Sun Collection (2 CD). Hadn't heard some of these before from Johnny's early days with Sun Records, including his version of Leadbelly's classic "Goodnight Irene".

Neil Young Roxy: Tonight's the Night Live The audience hadn't heard these raw damaged songs before. This week Neil brought back Crazy Horse with Nils Lofgren playing guitar in place of Pancho Sampedro and played a cool version of "Cortez"
