The answer is "kinda".
Singer/guitarist Andrew Savage of Parquet Courts is doing a solo album Thawing Dawn (see three samples above) which seems to feature songs that could be described as "Americana", "folk-ish", "indie country", "Singer/songwriter" (dare I say "Crooner"?) and/or "roots" music, a marked departure from the indie rock Parquet Courts is known for.
I love Parquet Courts, but I also love Americana, so I say, bring it on!
