Billy and I in happier times....
Pitchfork reports that Billy Corgan has a new album coming out in October, produced by Rick Rubin, but not under the name Smashing Pumpkins. Instead, he is using his real full name: William Patrick Corgan.
I heard the first song; nothing special. A slow, piano number. There's also gonna be a tour, but you won't hear me talking about it, much less going to it. I was formerly a huge fan of Smashing Pumpkins and went to many of their shows, as well as Zwan and Billy solo shows.
But until Billy denounces Alex Jones and his comments to Jones about Bernie Sanders, Socialism, and "Social Justice Warriors", I'm going to assume that Billy is still lost and doesn't need his old fans, or new ones, for that matter.
Perhaps he could blame drug and alcohol use or a fall on the head to mansplain his appearance on Alex Jones' Infowars show and his subsequent comments?
In light of Charlottesville, we all have to decide where our loyalties lie.
Billy, who and what are you loyal to?
Oh-oh... I just looked at the track listing for the new album and there's two songs with names of vicious battles from the U.S. Civil War: Shiloh and Antietam.... I smell trouble...
